This class is accredited by the American Heart Association and results in a two year American Heart Association certification.

Intended audience

This course is intended for health care workers who need a CPR class. The Joint Commission and various other accrediting and regulatory agencies require CPR certification for nearly all providers of direct care, from transporters and patient care techs, to nurses, therapists, paramedics and physicians.

Topics Included

Adult, child and infant one rescuer and two rescuer CPR - Ambu bag (bag mask) and mouth to mask resuscitation - Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). BLS stands for basic life support, and is synonymous in meaning with CPR.

All training and testing is completed in the same session.

What is different from my basic CPR class? Why do I have to take BLS instead?

The basic life support for heath care providers class includes items that your basic level CPR class did not cover. Additionally, the American Heart Association you receive is the most recognized Healthcare Provider CPR certificate and is accepted in all health care settings.

Recertification Options

These options are available regardless of when your certificate expired.
1. Take a regular class
2. Hybrid recertification: complete on-line material and come in for a skills session. For more information about this option, please click here.

Why do our classes take less time?

Our classes take less time due to several reasons:

1. Small class sizes (usually 8 students or less).
2. Instructor focus on core content, not "war stories" or other extraneous information.
3. Adequate equipment numbers to reduce or eliminate sharing.
