CPR and First
Aid Instructor Training
Have you
ever wanted to teach others the lifesaving skills of CPR and first aid?
Do you need the increased flexibility and possible cost savings
provided by having an in-house instructor? Consider being a CPR and
first aid instructor!
We offer American Heart Association instructor training that will enable you to teach your own CPR and first aid courses.
First, you will need to complete the core instructor course via self-study.
This computer based program will familiarize you with the fundamentals of providing instruction.
The second portion is completed in the classroom and you will learn the program requirement of the course(s) you plan to offer, plus how to manage the
administrative requirements of running your own programs.
The final portion is to conduct a portion of a class on your own while being supervised. This will provide an opportunity for feedback on how you can improve and to
make sure you are effectively able to conduct CPR and first aid training.
Upon successful completion of the instructor training, you will be certified as an instructor through the American Heart Association for a two year period.
You must have a current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certificate prior to taking instructor training if you wish to instruct BLS level classes. AHA BLS instructors are also authorized to offer community level programs.
You may also choose to only instruct community level CPR and first aid, in which case AHA Heartsaver First Aid with CPR certification will suffice.
Prior to the instructor training, you must also complete the core instructor course. The core instructor course is included in the cost of the instructor training.
Cost and Scheduling:
Instructor training is conducted on an individual basis for maximum flexibility for your schedule and background in emergency care instruction.
Instructor recertification is also available, provided you are aligned with the Colorado CPR Association or are willing to realign with them. Please contact us for details.
