FYI:
While you must take this class to administer medications, be aware that
this class alone does not constitute delegation to legally administer
medications. Per the Colorado Nurse Practice Act,
you (or your employer) must establish a relationship with a Registered
Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Colorado. The RN will provide the
legally mandated oversight necessary for you to administer
medications. This does not apply in
family child care settings. No RN delegation is required for family
child care providers.
Please
note the following information:
This
course is NOT APPROPRIATE for staff in assisted living centers or other residential
facilities for authority to pass medication as a CNA or for anyone intending to pass medication
as an unlicensed person outside the State of Colorado. Please contact the State of Colorado Department of Health or
do a web search for providers of "QMAP classes."
