We offer this American Red Cross accredited
program for those expected to respond when help is delayed.
Whether you take this class for your own knowledge or for a
regulatory requirement, it is important to know what to do when help is
no longer just a phone call away.
This course is designed to provide awareness on
what must be done to provide care in an environment where more advanced
care is more than 1 hour away. Whether you are in an actual wilderness
situation or not, there are many cases where you may find yourself
without quick access to emergency assistance.
This course is 13 to 16 hours in length, depending on class size. Upon successful
completion, you will
recieve an American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Basics certification
good for 3 years.
Topics Included:
- Essential equipment requirements for wilderness
settings.
- Initial Assessment
- Vital Signs
- Physical Exam, SAMPLE history

You may take this course to meet any basic first aid
requirement. While not mandatory, it is suggested that you have prior
basic first aid training to gain the most benefit from this
